A long time ago I told the story of being a teacher in Mr. Holland's Opus. My biggest scene, which they cut, was sitting in the front row of the 1965 commencement ceremonies, right between Bill Macy and Richard Dreyfus. Richard's seat was empty a lot, so I had a chance to visit with Glenne Headly in the next seat, and Jay Thomas in the next seat over.
My second biggest scene, which they didn't cut, is the opening shot in the teacher's lounge. I'm the guy it starts on, smoking a cigarette. Then you see the back of my head a lot.
I promised to post these autographs on my commencement program, but I couldn't find it. I found it today.
