eBay has the ability to make your deals, be they from the seller's or buyer's perspective, go through an escrow account, with eBay handling the funds transfer. You might want to ask them what the requirements are concerning international deals, but I'm relatively sure they can accomodate such transactions in a safer way than sending cash through the mail, and you wouldn't have to wonder if the person you are dealing with got the money, eBay would.
