I just acquired three steel tokens represented to be from the 1950's. I did not believe that tokens were legal prior to the change in the Federal law in the 1960's. The tokens appear to be made out of steel. They are approximately the size of a current $1 token. The tokens are stamped on an arc at the top
"GOLDEN GOOSE", THE TREASURY", and "VEGAS WORLD" respectively. They are stamped at the bottom on an arc "TOKEN". They are each marked "LAS VEGAS" "NEVADA"
in the center. On the reverse side the GOLDEN GOOSE and TREASURY tokens have the casino name stamped in the center, the word "TOKEN" stamped at the top, and the words "NO CASH VALUE" stamped at the bootom. The Vegas World token has the casino name and insignia stamped in the center, the word "TOKEN" stamped at the top, and the words "LAS VEGAS NV" stampted at the bottom. I am away from home and do not have access to any of my reference materials. Can anyone share some light on the origins of these "tokens"?
