i use gojo creme hand cleaner no grit if you heat it it breaks down into an oil. after all it is grease from hands. then i use a soft fingernail brush from pier one. wash and dry and then use johnson baby oil bath except no subistutes. lay on a towle turn after a few hours then a few hours on the other side over night is nice. i find that mineral oil does have a slight residue. then wipe it dry. it never gets that dry look. the advice on older hot stamped chips is very correct.
