I don't think this hobby is any different than any other. To some it is not a hobby but a chance to make a buck. Many will make a buck any way they can, including overcharging or stretching the truth. To me this is part of the game! For every person in this hobby who is dishonest or just a plane sphincter, there are many more that are above board and great people. Like being a consumer in any other situation, one must prepare themselves to swim in the waters of chip collecting. The sharks are there waiting to strike. My opinion is if you get bit it is your fault. There are MANY individuals on this board, and in the chip community that will provide you with honest and accurate information. To leave the hobby because of what happens everywhere else is not giving a great hobby, and a great group of people a chance.
