Thanks for your most welcome response Jim; I couldn't agree with you more about educating one's self. However, this process does not occur overnight. In most cases it takes years. In today's "instant fix" society, we take pills for just about everything that ails us. I know of no "chip experience pill" that can be taken which would replace the years of experience you and others have obtained Jim. Valuable lessons are learned through the school of hard knocks.... and by getting burned a few times. Unfortunately, most new-comers to this hobby DO get taken in by such over-hyped terms such as "rare". I don't consider myself a policeman Jim. I don't arrest people or bring charges against them. I look at myself more of an activist educator and bring my personal hobby experiences to this board for others to decide for themselves how they would like to pursue their own hobby goals. If it is the wish of some folks to continue to deceive, or misrepresent chips they have for sale... I can't change their screwed-up value system they have established for themselves. I can continue to express my personal views that what some of these so-called chippers are offering is not what they have purposely mis-described. If that's policing, then I have a different definition of what policing is all about. I don't subscribe to the "let's sweep it under the rug" concept and ignore it .... it might go away. Jim, the numbers of "rare" chip offers on ebay are increasing at an alarming rate. The last time I brought this to the attention of this bb only a few weeks ago, the number of "rare" items listed were something like 80. It's now over 120 and climbing. Evidently many of these same sellers see nothing wrong with what they are doing .... and very few concerned chippers are expressing their personal outrage by continuing to support these ebay frauds and remaining silent. I think that peer pressure can go a long way to curtail some of these misleading ebay offers. Many of us know some of these over-zealous sellers personally. I suggest that we call them to task on their shoddy practices... just like some of us on occassion have called upon casinos to clean up their act. What's the difference? Is it because a few of these lying sellers are some of our "friends"?
