Hi Paul; I was beginning to think that I was the only one who has a problem with ebay sellers misrepresenting their so-called "rare" chips. I did a search this morning on ebay of those chips that had the word "rare" contained in their description. Something like 121 entries were described as being "rare" ..... and a lot of the individual offerings were priced at under $10. We've had this discussion on this bb before, with mixed opinions, about what is rare. There are several chippers right on this bb who are guilty of posting these misleading ebay descriptions. Folks, there are NO chips under $10 being offered on ebay ... or even under $100 ... that could be even remotely considered to be "rare" and those who think so, are only fooling themselves. They may be attempting to mislead a few novice chip collectors for the sake of milking a few extra bucks off of unknowledgeable newbies, but they certainly aren't misleading any mainstream chip collectors. I have often wondered to my myself ... "Self; don't some of these ebay sellers care about their own personal reputations and/or integrity when putting up such misleading descriptions?" My own viewpoints and opinion of quite a few chippers whom I know only through this bb have been seriously eroded after viewing some of their misleading ebay lots. Whatever happened to integrity and honesty when dealing with fellow hobbyists? Shame, shame on some of you out there! You really ought to consider cleaning up your act(s). It's your reputation(s) that is suffering. You know what you are doing in most cases. Generally speaking, most of these misleading ebay offerings are not honest mistakes. They are carefully chosen words, designed and crafted to deliberately deceive. Some would rather not discuss this dishonesty among their peers, but prefer to continue to ignore it, as some of them are "friends". So now I've said what I believe needed to be said. You may now have at me ......
