I think deliberately false and misleading advertising is a crime. I think if eBay's rules serve to protect a criminal act and prohibit free dissemination of truthful information, they are aiding and abetting. If the seller has made an honest error, then a correction should be made and the adversely affected parties should be notified. If the seller has committed this act willfully and with full knowledge... well, I'm not a lawyer. Ain't we got no lawyers on this board?
