AOL is great for connecting on the road. I keep an AOL account just for that reason. Then, when I'm on a trip, I usually have a local number to dial into. The GOOD thing about AOL is that you don't have to use any of their software. After you get AOL started, simply minimize it and use your own browser, email software, ftp software, etc. All of it will work just fine through the AOL connection you are on.
