I have a stack of Dansco albums, 12 to a page, 7 pages make a book, or 84 chips per book. Problem is the cost of the albums started to mount. I have some 12 to a page three ring binders, they do get heavy, but for traders it makes sense. Can't have more than 7 pages, in a heavy duty binder. (that's 140 per book, but not easily transported or shown.) For dealers and shows, the heavy books are perfect.
So what is my prefered method for storing chips now? I bought a bunch of plastic chip boxes, which hold 100 chips each. I can stack them on the shelf and get to anything with ease. Not much for identification or taking to a friends. But that's why I have the 20 Dansco albums, for special chips.
Clear boxes are nice because I can see what's in them. <G>
I don't think there's a best way. For common accumulations, I use the boxes. For things I like to look at or show to people, the Dansco (or other) albums are best. For traders and poker chips, the big pages are best.
Unlike mint coins or stamps, casino chips are touchable and durable. You can do just about anything but drop them on the concrete. lol
