The list is much longer than that, Gene. Even if you can't tell who agrees and who doesn't. Which is why it's an important subject. So many people are claiming next year is the first year of the new millennium, children will believe it. The caliber of our educational system is no better than the caliber of our educators. But most people have no theories of year zero. They just think when the leading digit rolls you are counting the next thousand. It seems mathematically logical to them. At the same time we have fewer children able to comprehend basic math, we have more children packing guns to school and killing their classmates. I think there's a connection.
