John, the odometer on a car doesn't start at 1. The odometer of time is rolling over, starting again at a date ending at zero. The argument that there was a 1 B.C., and a 1 A.D. but nothing between just doesn't make sense! To keep track of the passage of time by leaving out recognition of every timed event, be it a person's age, 4.5 seconds that a fuel dragster covers a quarter-mile, or the sometimes split-seconds between beats of a heart all beginning at ZERO is relying on being able to see or collect or in some other way capture as proof what you are counting. Time doesn't work that way because it can't be captured, only measured, and even then, it is relative to who started measuring it and when. 1999 turning into 2000 sure looks like a new millennium to me.
