Hi Pete,
I don't know much--still trying to learn--but I will tell you what I know. These are inlaid chips that may be as old as 100 years. Most commonly used in home/private games in the 1930's and 1940's. THE guide book--"Antique Gambling Chips" by Seymour lists these chips as "PW-VW Geometric". Value C. Seymour classifies chips in many topical ways depending on what design is engraved, embossed or inlaid. Examples: Sports; People; Transportation; Animals and Reptiles; Birds and Insects; Numerals; Plants; Poker Designs; Miscellaneous and so forth. These chips come from the catagory "Poker Wheel & Faro". That is what the "PW" stands for--Poker Wheel. The "VW" is just the sub-heading under the PW catagory. This catagory starts with a chip "AB". "Geometric" is just the name of this particular design. Sometimes the names make sense correlating with the design--sometimes they seem arbitrary. The "C" value says these chips are worth $2.-$3. each. Obviously individual chips are worth more than a whole set would be--just like availability of casino chips.
