Twas the night before Christmas down here in Kentucky
Diane and I both were feeling quite lucky
We jumped in the car and drove way cross the river
While ten degree wind chills made us both shiver
The icicles hung from the rooftops all white
From the winter's first snowstorm that started last night
So despite the fact that the roads were quite slick
We thought that some gambling would be just the trick
To make us both feel like we were far away
Such as Florida, Vegas, or maybe L.A.
Anywere else...where it weren't this chilly
And Ceasar's aint too far for this old hillbilly
We finally got there and what did we see
But Julius and Cleo and reindeers (just three)
We played several hours then headed for home
After leaving our money on the Glory of Rome
Everything covered by snow
Was a sight of great beauty
But I dreamed of the palm trees
As I froze my pitooty
In front of a fire
In our warm cozy home
Seems the perfect time
To end this dumb poem
So whereever you are
May your hearts all be light
Merry Chrismas to all
And to all a good night
