Thank you, whoever you are. (Do you have a real name? Mine is Larry.) This option only affects the DISPLAY of dates on your PC, not the internal representation. So long as your BIOS and operating system keeps track of the complete date, it's purely cosmetic how you display it. It's when the internal representation is in two didits that the Y2K problem occurs. And then only if an application really cares what the real date is.
Heck, Bob Gabel regularly lives a couple of months in the past, which causes his email to me to disappear everytime I resort on date. But if, after the new year (when we will finally be in the last year of the 20th century, by the way), all new mail is sorted before all old mail, I would manage.
