I've just received a mailing today from Tom Stroh of Colorado. Tom is the author of "Cheques, Chips, and Tokens of the Playboy Casinos". Tom scribbled a note in my letter that says, "beware of green bunnies (see photo inside of PLA-5). Some of these made it to ebay......."

Here is a scan of Tom's scan. Excuse the poor quality from 3rd generation duplication. Maybe Tom would like to put up a clearer URL image of the actual chip. Tom's comment in his update is as follows:

"A genuine PLA-5 on the left and the altered cheque, on the right. After removing a thin layer of olive colored plastic (at the 5:00 o'clock position), the cheques original yellow and red shows through".

Thanks Tom for bringing the existence of this altered chip to the attention of collectors everywhere. I will post a similar warning notice in the next issue of "Black's A.C. Catalog", attributing the disclosure to you.
