On the question of a strike reissue, if you haven't already fallen asleep, yet, Richard, (yes, collectors can get wordy, yet still remain passionate about this subject) before 1997, casinos had stamped ".999 fine silver" on the rim of silver strikes even though there was no silver in the outer rim. Our respected author of the Nevada Silver Premium Token Guide, Marv Weaver, contacted the Nevada Gaming Commission on this practice resulting in the new requirement that .999 fine silver be stamped on the silver insert for any new or reissued silver strikes. So even if a casino reissues strikes with the same design, it will be a new strike distinguished by the .999 fine silver placement. Therefore, not to worry, Dennis, about the Hacienda (is it the same owner?) or the Golden Nugget. Even if they used the same designs, the prices of the old issues will be protected as the new issues will be different because of the .999 fine silver placement.
I highly recommend Marv's new SPT guide that will be coming out in January. It can be purchased directly from the author or at the Arizona Charlie Show in Las Vegas Jan. 28-29, 2000 where several dealers will be selling them.
