Today I got delivery of original manufacturer's samples from the U.S. Playing Card Co. (Circa: 1920s). These are the actual chips that were mounted in the salesman's books and as also seen in the museum of USPC...the real thing! Needless to say how excited I am of this find, as the chips are not just "Crest and Seals," but "Die-cut Inlaids," as well, and from some very famous clubs and casinos in Cincinatti, Cuba, Puerto Rico and.... I've got to refer to my notes for some of the other illegal locations to complete my ID, but just to list a few: Queen City Club in Cincy, Phoenix Club (with the bird) also in Ciny, along with Inlaid PC's that are also Phoenix Club. Crest and Seals from San Juan's Casino Espaņol, and other Crest and Seals from Habana's Gran Casino. Some of the Die-cut inlaids are monogram AC, HCW, P, interlaced CC's and WC. Those who have seen the USPC records will know exactly which chips these are. They all came from a person living in New Jersy, and he said he got the book at auction 40-years-ago.
The even better news: Some of the examples I have two of each, so I'll be able to make those available in the near future.
