O.K., I will make one additional comment. The law says "if you can't prove basis, your basis is zero (0)." In other words, if you can't prove what you paid for something, the law says it is -0- for computuing your gain. Let's say you have a chip you put on ebay. It sold for $150.00. You have no way to prove what you paid for this chip - no receipts, no cancelled checks, nothing. Your taxable gain is $150.00. Hey, THAT AIN"T FAIR!!!! You're right - but it's the law!<g> Best, Jim
