You think you live in the sticks, I'm in an 8,500 person town and we've had cable modem service for more than a year. I don't know why. We are 30 miles from the biggest city in KS and it only has 300,000 people and it doesn't have cable modem service.

One of the problems for the cable company is that most of their lines are set up to send signals just one way, not two. I'm buddies with the local cable guy and they upgrade their lines on an as needed basis.
