Archie,
You make a VERY good point! I have felt the same way for years. I can't see why it would be a secret. We of course know how many were made if there is a number on the chip. It all boils down to the fact that except for a very few Casinos, the cashier's cage gets VERY little information about there even being an LE ready to be released let alone how many were made! I can't count the times I have asked people in the cage how many were made when there was not a number on the chip & they had no clue. This is something that should be handled by the Club Board. At the very least a standard letter should be drafted & sent to all the Casinos that are known to release Limited Edition chips. Not just here in Nevada, but, across the country. The letter could simply ask the Casinos to post how many of a certain chip were made somewhere near the cage for all the chip collectors to see. I don't think this would work for Paul-Son & others who make the chips since they would not want to release any information on what their customers purchase. I would be more than willing to get names of people these letters should go to here in the Las Vegas area. It might take a while, but, I could find out over time as I go in & get chips. NOW, please don't tell me to jump over to the Club Board & post this there or E-Mail the Board members................They read this Board too, so ALL they have to do is print this out & bring it up at their next meeting.
