Hi Marv ----- you noticed the same thing about the chips in the movie as I did when I rented it (of course, one of our other guys -- Gene Trimble, I think -- warned me what to look for <g>).
Even the sellers who claim the Casino de Isthmus chips are real movie props admit that they are not the ones seen in the opening scene. The best any of them has come up with is that there is a brief scene inside the casino where you can supposedly see the common Paul-sons on a table in the background. I have never been able to find any such scene (three times through the movie).
Don't know what to tell you about the $10 chip or the inlays --- just another example of why these sellers are ripping people off. (Well, not all of the sellers -- some seem to have been ripped off themselves and are honestly unaware of the true situation.)
BTW, I did submit a written inquiry to Christie's collectibles expert, but have not yet received a response. Be interesting to see what they have to say.
