In previous notes about day cruise ships in Florida, I mentioned that some have gone into "drydock", were repositioned to different ports or just sailed off into the sunset never to be seen again. Today, 3 boats from the SunCruz fleet as well as the Monte Carlo Cruiser were raided by state & county law enforcement agencies, for alleged gaming within the 3 mile territorial limit. The SeaEscape & the Palm Beach Princess were also mentioned, but it was unclear what happened to these ships. The nightly news programs show various police agencies carting slot machines & tables off the boats. One county official even mentioned that all chips were confiscated. I guess that these chips & tokens must be considered "behind bars, waiting for bail to be posted", which is different than retired or obsolete. More details tomorrow when the dust settles.
