I recently received an invitation from the Flamingo Hilton Laughlin to spend two nights free plus two free tickets to the 6th annual Laughlin Desert Classic off-road race the 19th-21st of January. I've never been to Laughlin, much less the Flamingo Hilton in Laughlin.
I did work the inaugural Las Vegas 400 Winston Cup NASCAR race as an independent online reporter, but stayed at the Stardust that weekend. They offered me a cheap room for the same event this year, and I didn't go, the cars that just go around in circles tend to put me asleep anymore.
I spent Labor Day weekend this year at the Las Vegas Hilton, played some rather large bets on one of their blackjack tables. The Vegas Hilton has sent me nothing inviting a return visit.
I'd like to know what generated this apparent "out-of-the-blue" offer. I will decide by this weekend whether or not to attend (the timing might be tough, the AZ Charlie's show and Superbowl weekend is already a set schedule for me the following weekend, and I'll be there for that).
Any insider info concerning marketing would be most interesting and appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob
