What he sent you is nothing but a trace route. Anyone can make one and it is simply a list of the various servers that the data travels through on it's journey from one computer to another. If, when you have your internet connection enabled, you open a DOS window and type:
tracert chipguide.com
You would get a similar listing of the servers that the data passes through to get from yours to chipguide.com.
I think the guy is just pulling your chain. If he thought you were hacking his server and he suggested that to his ISP, there is no logical reason for them to furnish him with the tracert. The tracert just has no significance in the matter.
