Archie,
Good morning to you! What a nice post - I too will attempt to be civil and nice in my reply to your post.
Putting aside the $1,000.00 Gaming Times cover which in my opinion is a convention type expense and not club publicity to the outside world, we spent $411.72 to promote our club via ads and news releases. Do YOU as our president honestly believe this is adequate promotion for a club that took in over a $100,000.00 in income? If you honestly believe it is. Lets drop the subject right here. I will not agree with you nor do I believe any reasonable person will agree with you. I admit $411.97 is greater than the $50.00 to $100.00 I stated but really Archie it isn't much in the way of telling the outside world we are here. Why can't we have a promotion budget allocating a sum certain to be spent for club promotion to the outside world? The amount to be determined by the board. What's wrong with that? I believe it would give the publicity chair person an idea on how much to spend - and maybe combine the expenditures with the "free" stuff we can get. What do you say? Will you at least consider it along with the board?
Convention expenses are not the type of expenses I have been talking about. I realize we do get some promotion out of the convention but hardly enough to consider convention expenses, club promotion.
Thanks for the information. As you are well aware I stayed away from the meeting to avoid a confrontation over my constitution changes. I was pleased to achieve 50% of what I wanted and did not believe I could accomplish anymore. So why look for confrontation with you by showing up? Best, Jim
