GAMING CHIPS: Alexis
Park plans more rooms
and adding a casino
Owners of one of Las Vegas' better-known
nongaming hotels have filed plans with the Clark County
Planning Commission to add a small casino to their
property.
Operators of the Alexis Park are attempting to open
7,079 square feet of casino space at the off-Strip
property, which sits along Harmon Avenue across from
the Hard Rock Hotel.
The move would come after the completion of a
proposed deal by Alexis Park's owners to purchase the
Americana Inn, an adjacent 208-unit apartment complex
that would be converted into hotel units and linked to the
neighboring hotel.
Plans also call for the construction of an adjacent
three-story, 120-unit hotel on an empty lot.
