Funny how a thread changes things. The club will grow on it's own and getting bigger is a positive, yet I find no reason to make it bigger by hype and promotion. Funny how your comment "bigger isn't always better" in ten messages has been turned into, how come we want to keep people out of the club? <G>

I don't always use my member number (1040) because people who are new, suddenly think I'm some old timer who knows something. I'm just a chipper who has fun collecting.

As long as the what's a dealer, who's a dealer, etc. debate has risen it's ugly head again. Dealers are good for the hobby. They carry inventory and many cases provide a way to find a chip, which might otherwise never be found. Under the FL two chip rule, I must be a dealer, since I actually sold over 20 chips on eBay this year. Peaole had to buy them, to pry the chips from my chip grubbing hands. <G>

Price manipulators, hoarders and speculators, are not dealers! (more like vultures or hyenas) They invade every hobby, and their only interest is profit. As everyone can see, most of the dealers on this BB are happy to provide help, information and guidance. They don't just sell things. (and ask them, they don't always make a profit, but it would be nice to support them.)

As for scam artists, they build up their reputation and word gets around. Soon enough they run out of people to try to trick and move on to something else.

The club is doing fine and well. One thing I can transfer from racing competiton, would apply. If it's not broken, don't fix it! (or was it from Church? The devil you know is better than the devil you don't know?) Either way, happy chipping...
