When I proposed a shirt, years ago, I was advised the same as you, that it could not be done without permission. I wrote back and forth to Archie a few times, and that was that.

I didn't fly off in anger and start calling people names or write long messages attacking just about everyone who mentioned the club policy. I just dropped the idea of the shirt, for awhile.

I agree with you that the logo will promote the club, and many members would be proud to wear a shirt saying they are a club member. Nice idea. I think the suggestion of working out a license agreement, or donation of a portion of the profits would be a really nice gesture.

As someone else mentioned, don't forget the word "Member". <G>
