Re: Club Logo question
In Response To: Club Logo question ()

John... and to others using the club logo in ads, websites, ebay, correspondence, etc., signifying your club membership. Personally, I see nothing wrong with DISPLAYING the club logo. The more technical problem is "selling" the club logo which is attached to a product that an individual has manufactured. Here's an example. Just suppose that CT Rodgers, a very well-known respected dealer who has a fairly extensive stock of collectors supplies that he sells for a living, decides to put the club logo on 3-ring binders and sell them for xxx amount of dollars. In view of the fact that the club logo belongs to the club.... much like a company or corporation logo, is there anyone out there who would say that it would be o.k. for Charlie to do that .... without seeking permission beforehand? The club logo belongs to the club.... not to individual club members to offer it's sale.... but that's my personal opinion and I realize the world out there is changing. It is up to the current officers to be vigilant and police any misuses. I can't see how protcting club property in this manner is "keeping the club a deep dark secret".
