This is an email I received from Kevin Mahoney, GM of the Opera House Casino in North Las Vegas. Opera House has produced some very collectible chips in the past and now under Kevin's leadership, will do so in the future. His appeal for help for the family of the murdered 21 dealer is genuine and hopefully will be supported by us chippers.
"As many of you have heard, there was a blackjack dealer killed at the Golden Gate casino named Gloria. Gloria also worked as a blackjack dealer at our other casino the Silver Nugget for over 1 year. This tragedy has left 3 children without a mother and they will need some help to live their daily lives.
We are asking for your help to raise money for her children. This Saturday, November 13, 1999 we will be having a bowl-a-thon for her children. All the money raised will go to her children and their grandmother. The times for this event is from 9 A.M. until 7 P.M., the cost is $2.25 per game, all of this will take place at the Silver Nugget. If you do not bowl, donations will be accepted.
Thank you for your time,
Kevin Mahoney
General Manager"
If you wish to contribute, send a check made out to Mahoney's Silver Nugget Casino, with the name Gloria Cohn on the memo line. Address is: Mahoney's Silver Nugget Casino, 2140 Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89030.
