Wayne,
I stated in another thread started by Dick Brach that you didn't need me to defend you. I Lied! That was stated before I read this silly thread. Anyone can state that they may not like the Trop or think the Trop is a bad idea for the convention. They're entitled to that, but no one can not disparage the terms of the contract. As listed, they are most favorable to the Club and you should be commended for extracting what you did from them.
To the Naysayers: If you have never tried to negotiate a contract with a hotel/casino in Vegas for what this Club needs in the way of facilities, rooms, chips, F & B, meeting space, labor, security, etc..where do you come up with the idea that this is a bad contract or the CLub will lose a lot of money at the Trop? Wayne is an asute business man and has the CLub's best interest at heart. From experience, let me assure everyone that thinks that the hotels in Vegas would be falling all over themselves to host our convention, nothing is further from the truth. In the grand scheme of Vegas conventions, we are small fish and the convention chairman finds this out real fast. Thus, to return to the Strip, like so many people complained about for 2 years, you find the best overall deal. And that is exactly what Wayne has done. I am thankful he took the position for many reasons, but mainly because the man understands contracts and negotiations. Down South it's called Horse Tradin' and he done good!!
