I have found Stockmen's and Commercial absolutly unwilling to discuss selling foreigns from the cage. (although I must add they are very polite and smile as they say no.)
As for what they have on the tables, I have been going twice a year, and it seems like something changes almost every trip. There was a new casino in the hills, I didn't get the chips. I don't know if they are still open?
I'm trying to escape for Christmas and see what's new or old or whatever. <G> I'll do my usual chip report from Elko. I have some of the $1 Stockmen's with the name spelled wrong. I guess I'll sit on them until someone recognizes they are not a common chip.
I'm making a fine (and stupid) collection of various UV markings on Red Lion casino $1 chips. Each new rack is different. Cheap thrills.
The biggest chip, I have never had a line on, was the LE 25 numbered chips for the Cowboy Poetry. Talked to the casino manager and he said they were salted on the tables and 5 were auctioned off at the jamboree (or convention or ???) So now I have to get some local to go bid for me. I don't have a clue what they went for, but one of 25? That is unusual.
Since you go to Elko, stop at the 449'er club and meet the old bartender, he's a classic. Fun guy and they have VP in the bar. When you are walking from Commercial to Stockmen's look left down the cross street, it's about four doors down.
