The originators of the modern Christian calendar have shown no propensity to use zeros. There is no day zero. There is no month zero. Why in creation would they have had the millenia foresight to start with year zero? It takes 10 years to have a decade, so the first one was years 1 through 10. 100 years, 1 through 100, was the first century. And the first millennium didn't end until midnight of 12/31/1000.

Just don't you forget, rolling the odometer IS cause for celebration. I'm up for the party, even if they can't come up with the right name.
