Re: Question Paulson/TR King
In Response To: Question Paulson/TR King ()

TR King had some involvement in making, distributing or selling dice that weren't exactly "square". I don't think there was an actual disbarrment, but instead, they surrendered their permit or license to do business in Nevada, when these irregularities were being investigated by Nevada Casino Control Commission. (These may not be the precise facts and outcome, but is the jist of it.) This occured in the 1970's I think.

In contrast, the Nevada CCC issued a statement that suppliers of Nevada gaming equipment (i.e. Paulson) should not sell products to illegal Indian casinos operating Class III gaming without a compact. Setting aside the disputes as to whether the Indian gaming was truly illegal or not, Paulson played it safe and withdrew sales to California Indian casinos, opening up chip sales opportunities to TR King, plus several other new molds, like the T-bird mold, etc. Note that Paulson continues to sell to the legal cardrooms in California. (What confuses me is that Chipco has sold chips to these same Indian casinos during the disputed period, while selling in Nevada at the same time. I can't explain that.

With the new agreements between Gov. Gray and the Indian casinos, I would expect to see Paulson re-enter the Calif. Indian casino market pretty soon.

If others can explain more precisely, please do so.
