I've got the collector mentality bad. I've collected crap all my life. I got shelves covered with parrot statues in desparate need of dusting. I got boxes of 70's computer hardware I'm sure the Smithsonian will give me big bucks for someday. There's one indisputable redeeming feature of collecting current LEs and house chips. 90% of the other stuff I've collected will probably bring pennies on the dollar at a yard sale some day if I ever get tired of it. My LEs are worth face at the casino that issued them any day of the week. Which means as long as there are collectors, they're worth over face to someone. As long as the casino stays in business, they are worth at least face. If the casino closes, gaming regs gives me 4 months to decide if I want an obsolete chip. I don't know of any other collectable that gives me such a great long term money back guarantee. How much is that digital camera worth today, that you paid $1000 for last year?
