Paul; Just to clarify a point in your post..... the club does NOT produce the "live" casino chips which are sold at the cage. The CASINO and/or the manufacturer creates the designs, obtains approvals, and places the order and dictates quantities to be issued and collects 100% of the money from the sale of live CC>CC convention chips. The only convention chip the club produces is the NCV commemorative which is selected from designs submitted by club members and is sold at the club table. In fact, I don't know how much the club can say about what denomination live chip is produced by the casno to commemorate the annual club convention. In the past, we were simply pleased that both Aladdin and Orleans issued live $5 chips to commemorate our event and the question about a $25 chip never came up. I'm sure that the club officers can voice their displeasure to Trop management regarding a higher denomination convention chip..... if there is an objection.... but the final decision I believe will rest with the casino management. It's their chip, not the club's. Would be interested in hearing what the board's position is on this subject.
