Hi Albert,
I will try to answer your questions. The Prodigy BB offers a few features you cannot get here on Greg's BB. Nate pointed one out - the chat room where the auction will be held. Another is the BB note manager which allows you to save all the notes posted to the Prodigy BB for future reference. In addition Kerry mentioned the most important reason for me - nostalgia. Many of the Prodigy subscribers "lurk" on the board but do not post. This will give a false impression that no one is using the BB which is an incorrect perception. I was merely requesting these lurkers to post.
The auctions that are held on Prodigy are a tradition. You are correct - I do not put them on. You probably are already aware that I do not care very much for auctions; but this really has nothing to do with Prodigy.
Your second question was really more of a comment. I am not trying to exclude anyone. What I was trying to do was to get more people to subscribe to Prodigy inorder to keep it viable. I am sorry you took it in the vain that you did. You asked for my opinion so here it is. The fact that I take the time to write something is a personal decision I make. I have said before I write for me. No one pays me nor do I receive anything for my articles. I believe, since I wrote the article, this gives me the right to post it where I wish. I have a problem in undestanding why you chastise me for exercising such a fundamental right.
In conclusion Albert, I have not been collecting much longer than you. I can understand your frustration in not being able to obtain information, any information, about our hobby. For this I am sorry. However, I am going to continue posting articles I write on Prodigy until I believe it is a waste of time. Thanks for your note. Best, Jim
