I agree with the statement that a low starting bid is no defense to fraud. But I caution you all not to use that word "fraud" without proof that the seller has the intent to fraud. In the case of the Abalene chips, I find no fraud at all--no intimation of fraud, unless it turns out that the chips were not found in an old building being destroyed--then that would be a lie and a basis for a charge of fraud.
