Welcome to the hen house, Michael. FWIW, I never took any of the discussion as accusatory. Many of the chippers here are concerned about activities that are potentially harmful to the hobby, and some activities on eBay are seen as harmful. Particulary the passing off of fakes as real, describing common chips as rare, or otherwise seeking to deliberately mislead and fleece the new collector. Sometimes email contact of these sellers leads to hostile exchanges. We have recently had "conversations" with an eBay seller who we found to be very dishonest. We all cheered when he was kicked off eBay. That also came amid a mass of suspensions, including some accounts we were convinced were created by him in the name of a regular to this board, and some accounts that we believe were victims of innocent association. So of course another round of suspensions led to a great deal of curiosity and conversation, and maybe some inappropriate speculation. This board is not some formal institution, it's just a group of chippers who choose to freely associate in cyberspace. Like a bunch of guys who meet every night at Greg's Bar for pizza and beer. Except without the pizza and beer (hey, Greg! we need a Hawaiian with extra cheeze and extra pineapple over here!). You are certainly welcome here.
