For the past 15 years that motel joint has been playing games with chippers with a different story each and every time you tried to get a chip. Most consistant would be the trend that they would open when they could find a dealer that would work on a 2 hours notice that there were a lot of people in town and/or the motel had some high roller (0ver $2 bets) drinking at the bar and wanted to play more than $5 per hand. It got rediculous to even ask since they always had to keep the chips available as long as the table was on the premises supposedly licensed to have suckers. Armin and I had dinner in the restaurant a few times (goood food, low prices, lotsa truckers) and waited to see if they would open the table. Once, we got lucky in 10 years and walked with about 6 chips between the two of us. But the cost was so great, we never could put a decent price on a $5 because you could hardly ever win in the joint the game was so tight. In the middle of a game, they would add two decks as they felt you might be able to count even when they shuffled every deal. It was pretty bad.The "policy" seems to be: Open only when Reno is overloaded with players and maybe even during Hot Aug. Nites. But most dealers are busy then and they could not find one anywhere with that reputation.
