It is indeed a phenomenon, John! Not just the chips and casino collectibles but the eBay growth in general.
I look at the titles of several hundred lots each day. Many days there is not a single lot of interest to me, but then the same thing happens to me when I browse a real antique shop <g>.
I wish I could think of a suggestion for eBay to make the browsing more efficient but so far I cannot. I look at both the casino categories now on the chance a desirable chip has been put in the general category. I read the suggestions of several posters to add more categories, but I'm afraid that will not help since many sellers will not make the fine distinctions we would like them to.
It seems like cheating, but I have begun to look at the lists of lots bid on by chippers I know are more advanced collectors. This at least gives me the assurance that a really good lot won't slip by me. This will only work until the more advanced collectors become more advanced eBay bidders and bid only in the last 60 seconds of an auction <g>.
