I grew up in Texas and listened to Wolfman Jack on XERF out of Mexico. He used to sell "autographed pictures of Jesus Christ" and prayer cloths that you would put on the radio.. and then put your hands on it and "feel the power" of the WolfMan. I first heard Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Sam Cooke, and others from the WolfMan. He used to "talk" to us in Texas... used to tease us about going the LaGrange and the whore house there.... ZZ Top later did a song about LaGrange. Much later they took it down board by board and moved it to Houston and made it into a fried chicken restaurant. I think it is long gone by now...
