Thanks for posting this, Bruce.

What a shame. Arlene was such a joyous chipper, becoming involved because Gene was, and then surpassing him in many ways in the hobby. She was not only a good friend and a dear lady, but Gene's rock and his reason for existing. She battled bravely and without complaint against the disease that claimed her. I know that being able to attend this year's convention meant a lot to her, even though she was weakened and lacking her normal energy.

No matter how much the rest of us will miss Arlene, Bobbie's and my thoughts are with Gene. We cannot know what he is going through now, and we will write to him to tell him that we hope his sense of loss will be replaced by his good memories of a true life partner.
