Archie, I mentioned NHRA, not NASCAR. NHRA, like CC>CC is a non-profit organization. Membership in the NHRA is much like the CC>CC membership. You become a member by subscribing to the magazine. You receive a patch, hat pin, and bumper sticker along with the magazine subscription. What you see on TV isn't all that happens at an NHRA event. They show the Pro eliminations, and thats about it. An AVERAGE entry field of cars is around 800 race cars. Most of these people race as a hobby because you can't make a living persuing this hobby unless you go pro, and then you need to secure at least $1 million a year to shoe string a team for a full season.
