Andy,
I haven't been keeping up on most stuff going on in the wide world of pool for a few years. I know Efren has been one of the best in recent years (you might want to ask Scotty what his daughter's middle name is next time you see him). The last time I saw Earl "the Pearl" play was a good twenty years ago in Denver. He was still a kid (so was I). ...had a temper and got easily upset during tournament play. I'd hope age has mellowed him some. ....sometimes I miss going to pool tourney's. My first ever trip to Vegas was to watch the World Championships of Billiards, when Ray Kulemans (I hope that's close, it was a long time ago) was unbeatable working three balls around a 5 by 10. It was an amazing thing to watch if you had any clue about playing billiards, and how hard it is. He made it look way too easy....
You guys are bringing back some very fond memories of what some of my friends and family considered a misspent youth! <G>
