Howdy's book on Nevada Checks & Chips is one of the most informative, even if prices have leaped since it was published and new chips have come out. The first section of the book, describing chip manufacturers and molds is MUST READING for any serious collector.

I still prefer his method of describing chips (esp. insert description method) vs. Chip Rack method. Just a personal preference, but I think it's easier to visualize a chip (without photo) using Howdy's method.

I don't know how many subscribers he has for his auctions, but seems to be ample. I have a hard enough time competing for any of the better chips in his auctions without any more bidders!!
