Do you clean the print cartridge from time to time and align it every time you replace it, Archie? These maintenance steps are important if you want quality printing. Both can be done with the Toolbox software that comes with the printer.

I'm pretty happy with my HP Desk Jet. I have tried it at max resolution on photo paper and find it hard to distinguish from a photo, let alone a color copy.

My only complaint is the cost of replacement ink cartridges. I've experimented with reloading a color cartridge and it seems to work fine. I've ordered some bulk ink and will report here after I've done it a couple more times. I found I had spent half the cost of the printer in replacement carts just in the year or so I've owned it. Then I looked at the bottom of the printer and found it is made by Gillette <g>.
