Re: Phil Jensen collection, a chippers saga
In Response To: Re: Phil Jensen collection ()

There is a very important point many of my obsolete fellow chippers have learned by experience only ......and that is the joy is in the collecting chase; more than the finalization of a collection. It took some 18 years to collect my brass core specialty and learn everything I could about them. It took 20 years to get tired of the Bicentennials that were a lot of fun to argue about and banter with Landau types about which was "really" patriotic or a gneuine bicentennial. Both collections are now passed on to another chipper that will enjoy them as much or more than I did. More and more of us that have had a great time collecting, find that completing a specialty is satisfying but realize it was the attainment process that was the fun. Believe me, you can never get them all....but enjoy trying.
