Jim is stuttering something about Nebraska, Steve is writing about a skilled player (which does work), the thread is going right off the side of my screen. <G>
Back to the original Q&A, systems do not work. Playing with skill, does help and maybe can reduce the house odds or in the case of someone who practices and studies for a few years, can result in a positive expectation for the player. Now lets get back to all the rest of the "games" at the casino.
Slots are a sucker bet. (but I know, everyone knows a friend of a friend who won big) The other 99% of the people fed the machine all that money, so the casino could take 2% and one person could hit the big one.
Roulette. The perfect game which the odds never change no matter what you bet on.
Craps, where you can get double odds and reduce the house percentage to under 1%, but you have $18 or more on the line to do it.
Baccarat where a blind, deaf person could play well, because you don't have any choice except Bank or Player (and the non-choice of making a silly bet on matching) and the house odds are low.
All games that have high payouts for a jackpot, have low payouts in order to make that high jackpot available. All games that have low house odds have lower consistant payouts and no jackpot. So you can shoot the Moon for a progressive or nibble away and grind out a win. That's the way it is...
But there is no system that will beat the odds at any game in a casino. (skill is not a system)
